Culture and History

Dvory is home to several historic landmarks. The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built at the beginning of the 20th century and consecrated on 21 July 1905 by the Bishop of České Budějovice, Martin Josef Říha. On 15 March 1928, a commemorative plaque was set into its wall.

Another noteworthy landmark is the Chapel of St. Adalbert. It was built by the Slavík family beside the road at the bend towards Lažiště and has been added to the list of cultural monuments. The stonework surrounding the chapel and the spring was restored in 2016. The U Hesů farmstead, house number 11 in Dvory, also preserves a distinctive architectural feature: its façade in the folk Baroque style was designed by the renowned builder Jakub Bursa. The entrance to house number 11 also features a Gothic portal, probably from Hrádek Castle near Husinec.

Nature

The Řeka Blanice u Dvorů geological site includes very well-preserved gold-mining tailings in the Blanice floodplain, particularly between Zábrdí, Dvory and the Husinec Reservoir. Gold panning in this area experienced its greatest boom in the 12th and 13th centuries. The site can be reached via a walkable tourist trail that runs more than 250 metres from the road.
