Žárovná: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Žárovná is located in the immediate vicinity of Šumava National Park. In the village square stands the Chapel of the Fourteen Holy Helpers, a folk-Baroque-style building dating from 1863. Its rectangular floor plan terminates on three sides.

Culture

Chlumany is also part of the wider regional surroundings of Žárovná and is an ancient site.

Landscape and surroundings

One kilometre northeast of Žárovná, Skalky is located in a forest. The site features a rare occurrence in Central Europe of cordierite-anthophyllite rocks; in the rock, anthophyllite forms star-shaped structures.

The mountains Včelenský vrch, Volovický vrch, Boubín and Bobík are located in the surroundings of Žárovná.

Activities

A marked cycle tourism route runs through the Žárovná area. Many other paths in the area are used by cyclists and are also suitable for equestrian tourism.

Žárovná also has a public swimming pool.
