Hrbov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Velký Hrádeček is a hillfort dating from the Late Hallstatt period, covering an area of 0.55 hectares, and is also predominantly referred to as Hrbov in the literature.

Culture and History

The outline of Velký Hrádeček is marked by stone ramparts with a total length of 395 metres, which are 3 to 5 metres high on the outer side. The niche chapel of Hrbov is a protected cultural monument with registration number ÚKSP 31809/3-3575, stands near the road from Hrbov to Lhenice, and has a gable with volutes and an Eye of God motif.

Nature

The Hrádeček natural monument is located in the cadastral areas of Třebanice and Hrbov u Lhenic. The area includes a 700-metre-long breakthrough valley of the Melhutka stream in the massif of the 571-metre-high Velký Hrádeček and the 509-metre-high Malý Hrádeček; it features rocky slopes and smaller scree slopes.

Routes

Hrádeček can be reached by car without access restrictions; an access road lies within 250 metres of the site. A hike from Hrbov to Velký Hrádeček initially follows a red-marked trail towards Třebanice and then continues along forest paths to the hillfort.

Hrbovská bašta is a named stop on the “Netolickou oborou” cycling tour. The “Netolickou oborou” cycling circuit is approximately 20 kilometres long and is described as suitable for families with children.
