Cycling connections

The cycle route signposted with number 1088 leads from Netolice via Kratochvíle, Vítějovice and Žernovice to Prachatice. A 26 km-long cycle route from Netolice via Žernovice to Prachatice runs along a moderately difficult route. After approximately 2.2 km, cycle route No. 7 to Zookoutek and around Prachatice reaches the municipality of Žernovice. From Žernovice, it continues along cycle route 1088.

Culture and village character

A chapel dating from 1892 stands on the village square in Žernovice and is dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. There is also a memorial to those who fell in the First World War, which was unveiled in June 1930.

The village square also features three preserved gables in the style of peasant Baroque on houses Nos. 2, 18 and 24. Several stone crosses and wayside shrines can be found in Žernovice and the surrounding area.

Remembrance and landscape

Kobylí Hora is the hill above Žernovice, where a small memorial stands. It commemorates the crash of an American aircraft.
