Horní Záblatí: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Horní Záblatí is a place with a medieval and modern-era historic centre listed as an archaeological site. Within the cadastral area, the Blanice nature monument includes parts of Horní Záblatí. It protects the habitat of a natural oligotrophic flowing watercourse with a sandy to gravelly bed substrate, as well as the habitats of rare animals and plants.

Nature and Geology

The geological locality “Mramory SV od Záblatí” is located in the cadastral area of Horní Záblatí. It includes a marble quarry wall, a spoil heap and a partially backfilled inclined excavation. The locality can be reached via a walkable tourist trail; the trail is more than 250 metres from the road.

The Volovický vrch mountain is located in the vicinity of Horní Záblatí. The mountains Včelenský vrch, Libín and Bobík are also located in the surrounding area. From Horní Záblatí onwards, the Blanice flows through an increasingly deeply incised wooded valley.

Paths through the Landscape

The “Okolo Prachatic” circular hiking trail leads from Prachatice to Horní Záblatí along a blue-marked hiking trail. A yellow-marked hiking trail and a path run along the right bank of the Blanice.

History and Regional Surroundings

Historical mining is documented at “hořejším Záblatí u sv. Trojice”. In the wider regional surroundings of Horní Záblatí lies the Chlumany locality, listed as an ancient site.
