Pravetín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Pravětín–Skláře–Veselka heritage zone protects a continuously evolving agricultural cultural landscape. Its preserved parcel structure is considered valuable evidence of medieval settlement in the area surrounding Vimperk.

Landscape

The historical structure includes the radial strip-field pattern of Pravětín, which has been preserved to a significant extent in the western and northern parts of its cadastral area, including the division into parcels. The cultural landscape of the Pravětín–Skláře–Veselka heritage zone also offers unobstructed views of the Boubín Massif. Tailings from gold washing have been preserved along the Pravětínský potok.

Cycling and Educational Trails

The “Údolím Pravětínského potoka” cycling route reaches Pravětín via Táflová Huť and then continues along the Pravětínský potok towards Vimperk. It is 29 km long and marked with red tourist trail signs. The route follows paved paths, roads and forest tracks and takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

The “Pravětínský okruh” Nordic walking route mainly follows open countryside, away from heavily trafficked roads. In places, it passes through the built-up area of Pravětín and two holiday-home settlements. The Vimperská lesnická naučná stezka educational trail is approximately 13 km long and has 30 information boards in three language versions. Its starting point is located in the immediate vicinity of the Pravětín settlement.

History and Townscape

Pravětín was burned down during the Hussite Wars and subsequently rebuilt. The Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in the village square.
