Nature
At Mont Gargan, the landscape rises to 731 metres. From there, the panoramas extend across the Millevaches Plateau, the Massif des Monédières and the Auvergne Mountains. Mont Gargan is part of the Parc naturel régional de Millevaches en Limousin.
The Tourbière des Dauges is a national nature reserve with more than 2,600 animal and plant species, including 127 species protected in France. Two paths there are 2 km and 5 km long.
Étang de la Pouge covers 28 hectares and has an ornithological observatory. Fishing spots are accessible in the downstream area.
Forêt des Vaseix covers 104 hectares of coniferous and deciduous forest. It contains traces of a Roman road that linked Lyon with the Atlantic coast.
Culture
The Châlucet-Ligoure site offers a 7-km circular trail with 10 information stations around the Ligoure estate. Châlucet can be explored through a puzzle game and augmented reality. Châlucet-Ligoure is accessible free of charge all year round for self-guided visits.
The Musée d'art contemporain de la Haute-Vienne - Château de Rochechouart combines architecture, cultural heritage and contemporary art through site-specific works indoors and outdoors.
Oradour-sur-Glane preserves traces of the massacre of its population on 10 June 1944. The Centre de la mémoire d'Oradour is the only access point to the ruins of the martyr village and offers guided tours.
Haute-Vienne is also known for a porcelain tradition dating back to the 18th century.

The Voie verte des Hauts de Tardoire follows a former railway line and offers a comfortable, easy route for walking and cycling. It is connected to the Route Richard cœur de Lion and can be accessed from the Vélidéale via part of this route.
Food and drink
Limousin cattle are an emblematic breed of the Limousin region and are recognised for producing high-quality meat. They were the first cattle breed in France to receive a Label Rouge award.
