Culture and History
The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Masléon houses a painting of the Pietà , with a frame dating from the 16th or 17th century. The Pietà has been listed as a movable historic object since 6 September 1974. The church in Masléon was built in 1292.
The Masléon bridge on the RD 979 crosses the Combade. It is a 70-metre-long masonry bridge with a full-round arch.
Masléon is a bastide with historic streets laid out in straight lines that often intersect at right angles. In the immediate vicinity of Masléon, near a cave where Saint Léonard is traditionally said to have temporarily withdrawn, there is a statue of Saint Léonard that was solemnly blessed on 27 November 1889. The bell bears an inscription recording its blessing in 1823.
