Blond: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Blond is one of the municipalities included in the protected area of the Monts de Blond. The Monts de Blond form a granite range; their main ridge reaches an elevation of 514 metres near Bachellerie and rises clearly above the surrounding plateaus. At the same time, they feature numerous megaliths erected by humans and are considered the area in the Haute-Vienne département richest in standing stones and prehistoric remains.

Hiking and Trails

The marked hiking trails in Blond are classified as part of the départemental hiking programme PDIPR. The municipality of Blond also provides downloadable topoguides for local circular hiking routes.

The GRP des Monts de Blond is a five-stage trail with a total of 115 kilometres of marked hiking paths. The Circuit des Hauts de Blond is a 9-kilometre hiking route with a walking time of 2 hours and 30 minutes, starting at the car park on Place de l'Église. The Circuit des Cîmes starts in Blond and forms a 7.4-kilometre circular route.

The Centre Équestre des Hauts de Blond in Blond also offers riding lessons, as well as hacks and trail rides. The trail rides last between one hour and a full day.

Culture

The fortified church of Blond is a Romanesque building dating from the 12th century and is protected as a historic monument. Its bell tower was converted into a keep at the end of the 16th century. Four raised buttresses surround it and form defensive spaces.

The Rocher de l'Amour is a viewpoint on the Circuit des Cîmes. At the Rocher de l'Amour in Blond, tradition holds that women who wish to have children rub their navel against the stone and make a wish.

The Rochers de Puychaud are large erratic boulders and symbolically mark the boundary between the langue d'oc and langue d'oïl. They are part of the Circuit des Mégalithes. A commemorative plaque at the Rochers de Puychaud honours Frédéric Mistral.
