Archaeology and History
The Musée Archéologique de Saint-Gence exhibits Gallic archaeological finds from the Saint-Gence site. The museum is located at 4 rue Frédéric Mistral, 87510 Saint-Gence. The numerous amphora finds at the Saint-Gence site attest to lively trading activity at this location.
The Camp de César is a protohistoric fortified site on the promontory of Motte-Chalard. On 6 February 1980, it was added to the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.
Church and Monument
The Saint-Gentien parish church has a ribbed vault and a Limousin portal. Since 1966, it has been listed as a historic monument (Monument historique).
Paths through Landscape and History
The “Sur les pas des Lémovices” route is 8.5 km long. It passes the Pont Rabaud landscape area and the Camp de César fortified site. It also runs through the heathland of the communal land of Senon and along the Glane.
A shorter option is the “Le Vallon des Fonts Neuves” discovery trail: it is 1 km long and takes around 45 minutes.
