Several hikes begin at different starting points in Saint-Germain-les-Belles and the surrounding area. The “La Petite Briance” hike is 10.5 km long and begins at the Place de l’Eglise. Highlights include notable trees, two old mills and the SNCF viaduct.

The “Les Belles Filles” hike is 6 km long, takes 1 hour 30 minutes and begins at the Place de la Tour beneath the covered market. It offers several views of the town of Saint-Germain-les-Belles. “Le Martoulet” is 7 km long, takes 1 hour 45 minutes and starts at a car park between Le Martoulet and Le Chargeas. Highlights of this hike include La Vergne Forest, forest paths, viewpoints, a pond and the village of Le Chargeas.
The “Le Grand Bois” hike is also 7 km long, takes 1 hour 45 minutes and begins at the Place de l’Eglise in Saint-Germain-les-Belles. From there, views open up over the Petite Briance valley and the viaduct.
The A20 motorway passes through Saint-Germain-les-Belles; the municipality is connected via junction 42. Saint-Germain-les-Belles is also served by the SNCF railway line from Paris to Toulouse.

History
The Église Saint-Germain was rebuilt in the 14th century after it had been designated, through the will of Hugues Roger, the brother of Pope Clement VI and Cardinal of Tulle, as the recipient of the endowment for a collegiate church. The medieval tower is the oldest building in the municipality of Saint-Germain-les-Belles. It was a medieval fortification tower and was later converted into a prison.
The “Circuit découverte du village” is a self-guided historical tour from the church via the Venelle to the Place du Petit Barry.
Water
The “Montréal” fishing lake is managed by the Haute-Vienne département fishing association and has a jetty accessible to people with disabilities.
