Oradour-sur-Glane: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
The martyr village of Oradour-sur-Glane is a memorial site featuring wartime remnants. The ruins of the martyr village were classified as historic monuments by the law of 10 May 1946. The preserved martyr village comprises the church and 120 houses, which have been preserved in their ruined state.
Culture and history
The Centre de la mémoire is a cultural interpretation centre dedicated to the history and memory of Oradour. Since 1999, it has been the only access point to the ruins of the martyr village. The Centre de la mémoire offers guided tours explaining the historical context and the events of the massacre. It also preserves archives, photographs, eyewitness accounts and publications.

The new church was consecrated in 1953. Its stained-glass windows were produced by Francis and Pierre Chigot in a workshop in Limoges and designed by Pierre Parot. The new church contains a statue of Saint-Victurnien, which is classified as a historic monument. The Fenosa statue is dedicated to the martyrs of Oradour. The Lanterne des Morts dates from the 12th century. Located between the old and new town centres, the Maison d'Oradour forms their historical and emotional link.
Hiking
The fifth stage of the GRP des Monts de Blond runs across the southern plateau along the edge of the Monts de Blond. Les Hauts d'Oradour is a 13 km circular hike. The Les Hauts d'Oradour hike leads visitors to discover the Limousin bocage landscape with sunken lanes, heathland and small typical villages.
Practical information
During the construction work, access to the martyr village is exclusively via a temporary reception point in the Centre de la mémoire car park. The martyr village can be visited free of charge during the Centre de la mémoire's opening hours. There are no explanatory information panels in the ruins. The village has a designated parking area for motorhomes.
