Vaulry: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Vaulry combines specific cycling and hiking activities with the cultural heritage of the Chapelle de l’Immaculée-Conception and the landscape of the Monts de Blond.
Cycling and Hiking
The Espace VTT offers individual coaching to help visitors discover and improve their cycling skills, as well as supervised training courses.
Anyone considering Vaulry as a travel destination will want to find and rent a holiday apartment there.
The Espace VTT FFC des Monts de Blond–Vaulry offers the 6-kilometre “La Chapelle” hiking trail. At the Vaulry-les-Mas site, there are enduro mountain-bike trails of up to 2.5 kilometres in length; a shuttle service is also available.
Culture
The Chapelle de l’Immaculée-Conception in Vaulry was built in 1863 as a hexagonal structure with an interior diameter of 6 metres. In 1886, a 17-by-7-metre nave was added to the Vaulry chapel due to the increasing number of pilgrims.
By appointment, L’atelier de Corinne offers workshop tours and direct sales. L’atelier de Corinne uses fretwork and woodturning techniques to make ballpoint pens as well as practical and decorative objects.
Nature
The Monts de Blond have been designated a protected natural area since 1977; the area was expanded in 2003. They form a 9,000-hectare granite massif.
In local tradition, the granite chaos of the Monts de Blond is associated with evocative names.
Practical Information
The hiking trail guide is available at the town hall or at the Espace VTT reception desk and costs 2.50 euros.
