Culture
The reliquary of the Vraie Croix, also known as the reliquary of Saint Veronica, is a work made in Limousin during the third quarter of the 13th century and is located in the Church of Saint Étienne in Balledent. The same church houses a statue of Saint Étienne. It can be dated to the 15th or 16th century and was entered on 16 November 1976 as protected movable cultural heritage.
The main building of the former Couze factory dates from the 18th century. The factory initially housed a paper mill that already existed in 1686 and was later converted into a spinning mill. It is surrounded by stone walls that form terraces above the stream and the surrounding meadows. From Laprade, the former Couze factory can be reached via a path lined with large oak trees.
The Moulin de Balledent has preserved its waterwheel. Above the valley, the D103 offers a view of the former Moulin de Balledent and its waterwheel. Balledent's small heritage includes stone crosses, wells with paddle-wheel or crank mechanisms, fountains, and a washhouse with a well in the village centre.
Cycling
The C5 cycling circuit leading through Balledent and the Couze Valley is 53.2 kilometres long and rated as moderately difficult.
