Le Dorat: Holiday apartments and houses
The Collégiale Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens is an imposing Romanesque church dating from the 12th and 13th centuries. It is 77 metres long and measures 39 metres at the transept. It has been classified as a historic monument since 1846.

Culture and history
The Collégiale Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens offers self-guided and guided tours. Guided tours of the crypt take place in July and August in the afternoons at the Maison du Patrimoine, by prior registration.
The Porte Bergère is the last remaining fortified town gate in the Haute-Vienne département and is also classified as a historic monument. The Maison du Patrimoine offers exhibitions, a boutique and guided tours; its garden provides views of the apse of the Collégiale and the Tour Notre Dame.
The Hôtel dit « de la Pouge » is a typical 16th-century house with a watchtower and an intricately carved entrance door. In 2024, visitors were invited to enter the building and hear its history from a restorer.
The Rue des Fours is a typical street in Le Dorat with a medieval appearance; in the past, it housed communal ovens. The Fontaine Robert-Lapeyrière is a bronze and granite fountain associated with supplying the town of Le Dorat with running water.
The Chapelle Notre Dame du Temple has been a cultural venue since 2014. It features stained-glass windows signed by Dagrand as well as painted floral decorations. Le Dorat celebrates the Ostensions Limousines every seven years; the ceremonies are classified as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The Doramifa music festival has been held in Le Dorat every two years in mid-November since 2012.
Paths and landscapes
The Jardin Santillana del Mar, also known as the Jardin des remparts, lies at the foot of the former fortifications and offers views of the Tour Javerdat and the Fontaine Robert-Lapeyrière. The Ceinture verte is a protected and accessible path that partly runs along wooden walkways through the species-rich wet meadow of La Providence.
The Sentier « Les chênes » is a 5.7-kilometre walking and cycling path with yellow markings that begins below the Place de la Collégiale.
Events and digital discoveries
The Hippodrome de la Sagne hosts three horse-racing events per year. Every summer, the equestrian centre hosts a national show-jumping competition. The Hippodrome also has three grass tracks for trotting, flat and steeplechase races; each is approximately 1,420 metres long.
The municipal Médiathèque Gaëtan Picon houses a Micro-Folie with a digital museum as well as a workshop with virtual-reality headsets. The Micro-Folie provides free access to digital artworks from major museums in France, Europe and around the world, as well as workshops.
