In Feytiat, six routes for short hikes and one long-distance hiking trail start at the church; in addition, three circular routes pass by the Parc de la Mairie. Anyone choosing Feytiat for their stay may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
Hiking
The Circuit de la Biche is a signposted 6-km hiking trail starting at the church of Feytiat. Several woodland sections and viewpoints over the heights of Ardennes are part of its route.
The Circuit du Moulin de la Vergne is a signposted 2.3-km walking trail with an approximate duration of 40 minutes. It leads from Feytiat town hall to the Moulin de la Vergne, passing a pond and the de l’an 2000 forest, as well as following the Valoine through its natural surroundings.
The Circuit de l'Ecureuil is a signposted 8.5-km hiking trail starting at the church of Feytiat. It passes the Moulin du Châtenet, Crouzeix and the village of Ardennes.
Culture
The apse and choir of the Église Saint-Léger et Saint-Clair were listed as historic monuments by decree of 4 February 1988. The church’s main construction phases date from the 12th, 19th and 20th centuries.
The Château du Mas Cerise dates from the 18th century and is set in a remarkable park.
The Balade aux couleurs Pastel 2024 is a playful, easy-to-follow interpretive walk for families and friends in Feytiat, featuring 16 reproductions of pastel paintings, questions and QR codes.
The hamlet of Pressac has ancient origins, houses with interesting old architecture, and a Bonne fontaine with a tombstone stele of Saint-Gaucher.
The Fontaine Saint Gaucher is visited by pilgrims on Ascension Day and in September.
Nature
Crouzeix is one of Feytiat’s preserved natural areas and can be explored via signposted hiking trails.
At the Étang du Mas Gauthier, a walking trail leads around the pond. There is also a picnic area; the natural area is located at the junction of the hiking trails of the municipality of Feytiat.
Local life
Feytiat’s weekly market takes place every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the Place du 11 novembre. It offers fresh local produce, fresh meat, eggs, cheese, cured meats and delicatessen products.
