Culture and History
The Moulin de Pont-Péry was built in 1585 by Pierre Mousnier, a carpenter from the village of La Chaize, and is located on the left bank of the Arthonnet. It was one of the last mills in the region still in operation.
The Church of Saint-Martin is a Romanesque-Gothic building with two large buttresses, a Romanesque bell tower with two sound openings, round-arched windows, a vaulted interior and side chapels dating from the 15th century. The church contains two 18th-century reliquaries, including one of Saint Martin, a 19th-century painting of Saint Leonard, a baptismal font and a wooden statue of John the Baptist. The church preserves a section dating from the 12th century; between 1492 and 1495, it was rebuilt through the construction of the chapels, the vaulting of the entire building and the erection of the bell tower.
