Nature

The Sentier des Deux Forêts is a 12 km circular route with a walking time of around three hours. The yellow markings begin in front of the town hall. The path runs between the forests of Ladignac and du Chalard, passes the “Trou du Loup” and enters a typical Limousin forest with chestnut trees. Along the way, it also passes apple orchards, including orchards growing Golden du Limousin AOP apples.

The Sentier d’interprétation de la Biche is aimed at French- and English-speaking families.

Educational and playful stations explain the fauna, flora, and the development of nature and the landscape. There are ten stations in total covering topics such as dragonflies, animal tracks, chestnut coppice, bats, quartz and gold, and the birds of the bocage landscape.

The 9-hectare Plan d’eau de Ladignac le long is not open for swimming. Paths run around the water, and there are also picnic areas. The 5 km-long “du plan d’eau” hiking trail can also be accessed from there. The Fédération de pêche de la Haute-Vienne lists the Plan d’eau de Ladignac le long as a first-category fishing water.

The Eglise de Ladignac can be visited free of charge throughout 2026. In winter, it is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and in summer until 6:00 p.m. Its features include a polylobed portal in the Limousin style, serpentine columns, statues from the 17th and 18th centuries, a 17th-century altarpiece, and a reliquary bust of Saint Agnant.

The Château du Chastaing was built around 1752 as a fairly large château in the Louis XV style, after the Marquis de Lavergne had an earlier, modest pleasure house demolished. Since 2020, the rooms of the Château du Chastaing have been used for leisure activities as well as for the media library and post office.
