Saint-Just-Le-Martel: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

The Church of Saint-Just dates from the 12th and 13th centuries and has a wall bell tower typical of the Limousin. Inside, it preserves a reliquary monstrance from 1644 containing the relics of Saint Justus.

The Espace Loup is the exhibition venue of the International Centre for Caricature, Press Cartoons and Humour and has a large event hall. The Centre International has been located in the Espace Loup since 2011 and serves as a venue for exhibitions, resources, information and training.

The Festival international de la caricature et du dessin de presse et d’humour has been held at the Espace Loup every year since 1982, during the last week of September and the first week of October. The annual Salon International de la Caricature, du Dessin de Presse et d’Humour brings together 200 cartoonists from all continents and presents more than 30 exhibitions over ten days.

Nature

The Sentier Vienne et Forêt leads through the forest and along the Vienne. Along the way, there are viewpoints overlooking the river, the Limousin landscape and the Monts d’Ambazac.

The numerous signposted paths in Saint-Just-le-Martel provide access to varied landscapes and monuments, including the Rocher du Diable.

Trails

The Sentier du Loup has a 1.95 km main route and a short variant of 1.02 km. The longer route is indicated as taking approximately one hour and 30 minutes.

The Sentier de la Sorcière is a 4.96 km walking trail with an indicated duration of three hours. It runs along the banks of the Vienne and invites visitors to search for a menhir.

The Sentier Vienne et Forêt is 14 km long, has 320 metres of elevation gain and an indicated duration of three hours and 15 minutes.

The Sentier des Dragonniers is a 2.06 km adventure trail taking approximately one and a half hours towards the equestrian centre, where visitors may encounter dragons.

The Sentier des Villages can be explored on foot, on horseback or by bicycle and offers insights into the villages of the municipality of Saint-Just-le-Martel, as well as wayside crosses, the bocage landscape, ponds and numerous viewpoints. The trail is 25 km long, has 300 metres of elevation gain and an indicated duration of five hours.
