Louny District: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture

The monastery complex in Panenský Týnec is a protected cultural monument listed in the central Czech register of cultural monuments. The UNESCO property “Žatec and the Landscape of Saaz Hops” encompasses rural hop fields and the villages of Stekník and Trnovany, as well as the historic town centre of Žatec.

Stekník Chateau is a dominant landmark above historic hop fields that are still in use. At the same time, it is a significant Rococo building with an Italian terraced garden. The chateau offers four tour routes, including one that ends at the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. There is a hop-related exhibition in the cellar; the Italian terraced garden is also a separate visitor experience.

Nový Hrad was built between 1465 and 1474 above Jimlín and Zeměchy on the route between Louny and Žatec. The complex is open to visitors and offers several tour routes.

The Březno Archaeological Open-Air Museum is an open-air museum at an important archaeological site, with replicas from the Neolithic, Iron Age, Migration Period and Early Slavic periods. Archaeological experiments and prehistoric activities are offered there for visitors. Březno is also associated with almost continuous settlement from 5000 BC to the 10th century AD.

In Žatec, the Chrám Chmele a Piva is located in a former hop warehouse and former drying facility that served their original purpose for 100 years from 1890 onwards. A tour of the Chrám Chmele a Piva leads through a labyrinth between hop bales and through a sulphur chamber.

Nature

Panenský Týnec is located in the Džbán Nature Park. Around Panenský Týnec, the landscape includes forests, steep slopes, ridges, rocks, streams, ponds, fields and hop gardens; there are also views towards the Central Bohemian Uplands.

Steppes occur on Raná and on the slopes of nearby volcanic peaks. The Úpatím Rané educational trail is 2 km long, intended for pedestrians and easy.

Routes

The Ohře Cycle Route connects many attractions in the Dolní Poohří region. The Březno Archaeological Open-Air Museum lies on a yellow-marked hiking route and on Cycle Route 6. Cycle Route 6 leads from Žatec via Stekník towards Hradiště, Strkovice, Mradice, Skupice and Březno u Postoloprt.

Visiting

Krásný Dvůr can be reached by seasonal trains operated by Doupovské dráhy; the stop is approximately a 20-minute walk from the chateau. Buses from Podbořany, Žatec and Chomutov serve Krásný Dvůr, with the stop approximately a 15-minute walk from the chateau.

The park of Krásný Dvůr Chateau can be visited independently without a guide all year round. Prior reservation is required for interior tours. The park and courtyard of Krásný Dvůr are wheelchair accessible. The car park is approximately 30 metres from the chateau.
