Vinařice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Vinařice is located in the Džbán Nature Park. The Pochválovský stream flows through the village. The sloping fields around Vinařice are bordered by wooded sections.

Culture and history

The complex of the Church of St. Giles in Vinařice is registered as an immovable cultural monument. The church was built around the middle of the 14th century as a parish church; the chancel has been preserved, while the nave and tower were added during the Baroque period. It is a single-nave building constructed predominantly from ashlar marlstone, with a chancel ending on five sides of a regular octagon and a tower on the west side.

At the site of Na zámku above Vinařice, the remains of fortifications and collapsed cellars of the former Vinařický Castle have been preserved. After the fortress in nearby Divice was converted into a château in the 16th century, Vinařický Castle was abandoned; it fell into disrepair and eventually disappeared completely.

Nature and landscape

The Malý a Velký Štít National Nature Reserve is located in the vicinity of Vinařice. The reserve contains ecosystems of marlstone rock edges and outcrops, as well as a scree forest with numerous rare plants and animals, including in particular evergreen bearberry.

Vinařice is also associated with the cultivation of high-quality hops in the Žatec hop-growing region.

The surroundings of Vinařice include the Zřícenina Pravda ruin, Džbán Mountain, Pozdeňský les [Mšec] Mountain, Loustín Mountain, and the Church of St. Gothard.
