The salmon educational trail in Obora was created to support leisure activities and enhances walks along the Ohře through the village. The section in Obora connects to the salmon educational trail along the Ohře, which runs through Louny and the municipalities of Vršovice and Černčice.

Obora is included in the cycling tourism app “Na kole i pěšky”, which records several routes as well as various sights, attractions and monuments in the surrounding area.

Festivals and Culture

The Church of St Catherine in Obora u Loun bears monument register number 43326/5-1110.

The traditional Children’s Day celebration “Vodník” has been held in Obora for more than 55 years. It was initially held under the name “Pod kaštany”, and later at the “Pod Babkami” site on the Ohře. The celebration includes performances by swordsmen, a puppet theatre and competitions for children. The highlight is the arrival of water spirits on the river and the distribution of chocolate coins.

The fifth gathering of artists and art lovers, “Mirvaldova Obora”, was announced for 2 August 2025 in Obora to honour the distinguished Czech painter Vladislav Mirvald. The event venues were to be the multifunctional house No. 26 and the “Pod Babkami” natural area on the Ohře. The announced programme included creative workshops involving painting, drawing, acrylic painting on canvas, mixed-media techniques, pencil and pen drawing, as well as the production of prints and bookmarks.

Nature and Landscape

The mountains Oblík, Srdov, Brník and Křižové vršky are located in the vicinity of Obora.

The Loužek area bears the Natura 2000 code CZ0424140. It comprises mixed alluvial forests with English, field and European white elms as well as common and narrow-leaved ash along major rivers, and is a habitat of the cinnabar jewel beetle.

History and Monuments

The ruins of Hazmburk, Hrádek and Hradek Oltářík are located in the vicinity of Obora. The ruin of Zřícenina Pravda is also located in the wider regional area.
