Kostice Nad Ohrí: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the historic center of Radonice nad Ohří stands the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on a slight elevation above the Ohře River – on the site of a medieval church.

Culture

The church is a single-nave brick structure in the Pseudo-Gothic style with Neo-Romanesque elements. It was built from 1905 to 1907 according to a design by the Louny architect and master builder František David. Its interior has been preserved almost unchanged and features richly painted plant and figurative motifs as well as the original furnishings.

The cemetery at the church contains numerous old Czech gravestones, including gravestones of clergymen. Outside the enclosed church grounds, at the northwestern foot of the church hill below the stone cemetery wall, stands the Baroque statue of Saint Linhart, also known as Leonard. It dates from the first half of the 18th century and is freely accessible.

The historic townscape also includes the late Baroque vicarage in Radonice nad Ohří, built in 1782. It has a stone cartouche bearing the Strahov coat of arms and, above the window of the central upper floor, a small gable with two sculptures of kneeling saints. A commemorative plaque on the vicarage recalls the work of the Premonstratensian patriotic poet Boleslav Jablonský in Radonice nad Ohří.

In the vicinity of Radonice nad Ohří are Hazmburk and Hrádek; both are recorded as ruins. Hradek Oltářík is also located there and is recorded as a ruin.
