The grounds of Brody Baroque Château are located north of the village. The Baroque château grounds of Brody were built on the site of a 16th-century fortress. The archaeological area of the château grounds is classified as ÚAN I and spans the period from the Middle Ages to the modern era.

Culture and History

Brody was first mentioned in writing in 1403, at that time as part of Buškovice. After 1552, Jan Fremut the Younger built a Renaissance fortress in Brody. The Baroque château of Brody has a chapel dedicated to Saint Barbara. Near the centre of the village of Brody, at an intersection by a chapel, there is a column with a statue of Saint Barbara.

The “Circuit around Lubenec” is a 67.2 km route of medium difficulty for road bikes and trekking bikes.

Nature and Landscape

Krásný Dvůr Château Park lies on the slope above the Leskovský potok stream between the château and Brody and is a registered significant landscape element. In terms of area, Krásný Dvůr Château Park is one of the largest English landscape gardens in Bohemia and contains romantic landscape structures. The park can be visited independently and without a guide all year round; admission is free.

The Krásný Dvůr area is an important entomological area and a refuge for the hermit beetle (Osmoderma eremita).
