The Chapel of Saint Florian stands on the district road near the centre of Veltěže. The Neo-Romanesque building has two semicircular side windows; its walls are articulated by pilasters.
History and Architectural Heritage
In 1790, a pot containing old coins was found at a place in Veltěže known as Zámeček, along with an old cellar with iron doors nearby. Further traces of the past can be found in the surrounding area: Neolithic stone tools were discovered near a mill. Pits and graves from the La Tène culture containing iron artefacts were also identified in fields southwest of Veltěže.
From 5 to 12 October 2024, Veltěže hosted Výstava na stromech. This is a nationwide exhibition event held every October during the Week for Decent Work.
