Chraberce: Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the vicinity of Chraberce, Oblík rises opposite the village in the landscape panorama of Louny. The 509-metre-high basalt hill with steppe vegetation is a distinctive landscape feature. Chraberce lies within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. In the vicinity of Chraberce, the geobiocoenosis of the Lounské středohoří is protected on the basalt hill of Oblík.

Paths Through the Landscape

A longer hike to Oblík can begin in the vicinity of Chraberce; the green-marked hiking trail runs from Louny to Mnichov. Cycle Route No. 232 connects Louny and Chraberce. In addition, bus route 562702 operates on the Chlumčany, Vlčí–Louny–Libčeves route.

Culture and History

It is recorded that in 1100, Nemoj of the Vršovci dynasty donated Chraberce to the church on Vyšehrad. The Vyšehrad chapter community owned Chraberce until the Hussite Wars. The town of Louny purchased Chraberce from the Vřesovci in 1544.

Chraberce is home to a small Baroque chapel of Saint George with a tent-shaped roof and a small turret at its peak. The chapel contains a Baroque painting of Saint Wenceslas, restored in 1873 by V. Šváb. Below the Chapel of Saint George stands an empty pedestal of the statue of Saint Bernard from 1736, decorated with a relief of Saint George. A Baroque statue of the Virgin Mary from 1726 is also recorded in Chraberce.

The agricultural history of the village has also been documented: in 1930, hops were grown on 8 hectares in Chraberce, providing evidence of the village’s historic hop-growing tradition. Some of the archaeological finds south of Chraberce are kept in the museum in Louny.
