At the village green in Lišany stand the Chapel of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Column of Jesus Christ. The protected historic monument complex of the chapel includes the building and its associated grounds. The chapel is a rendered, masonry structure on a square floor plan with rounded corners.
Culture and History
The oldest surviving record of Lišany dates from 1351. That year, Pešek Čach established a vineyard on a slope above his farm. A record from 1602 describes the fortress of Lišany as newly built. In 1872, a train passed through Lišany for the first time.
Landscape
Lišany is part of the Ohře Valley landscape district. The Ohře area (CZ 0423510) is designated as a European Natura 2000 site within the Lišany landscape framework.
The ruins of Zřícenina Pravda and the mountains of Raná and Oblík are located in the vicinity of Lišany. Further afield in the region are the mountains of Srdov and Brník, the ruins of Hradek Oltářík, the ruins of Hrádek, and the Svatý Prokop monument.
Routes and Destinations
From Lišany u Žatce station, the footpath leads approximately 2 km towards Hradiště, followed by a 1 km route from Hradiště towards Žatec to Stekník Chateau. The Stezky chmele cycle route runs along the Žatec–Stekník–Lišany route.
