Břvany: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Břvany offers a glimpse of a historically shaped townscape: St. Martin’s Church dates from 1501 and is a single-nave late Gothic building with a square tower. It was repaired and reconsecrated in 2004.

Townscape and monuments

Rural property No. 22 is a valuable urban-planning and architectural element of Břvany’s historic town structure. St. Martin’s Church is located near the railway crossing in Břvany, at the intersection of the roads towards Lenešice and Žatec.

Other defining historic features include a statue of St. John of Nepomuk from the 18th century and a statue of St. Roch from 1932 by H. Kwapil, standing on a pedestal dating from 1811. The gate at house No. 2 in Břvany is a protected immovable cultural monument.

Landscape and walking trails

The municipality of Břvany partially extends into the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. Near Břvanský vrch, which reaches 302 m above sea level, there are scattered basalt blocks known as “Kamenní mužičci”.

The landscape around Břvany offers numerous excursions and walks. On the “Z Loun přes Ranou do Postoloprt” route, the trail passes through the municipality and follows the road past Břvanský vrch.

Cycling routes through Břvany

The Mostecký okruh is a 35-kilometre cycling route that passes through Břvany, runs entirely along roads, has only gentle climbs, and is suitable for cross, trekking and mountain bikes. The 55-kilometre Lounský okruh Českým středohořím I cycle route also passes through Břvany.

Getting there

Břvany can be reached by bus and train. There are seven road approaches to Břvany from the directions of Počerady, Bitozeves (Žatec), Vrbka, Lenešice, Hrádek (Raná), Milá and Bečov.
