Slavětín: Holiday apartments and houses

Slavětín is home to the protected complex of the Church of Saint James the Elder. It comprises the church, the former cemetery, the perimeter wall with two gates, the forecourt staircase and a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.

Culture

The Church of Saint James the Elder is an Early Gothic building with a long polygonally ended presbytery and a hall-like, three-aisled nave. The walls of the presbytery are decorated with paintings depicting scenes from the lives of saints.

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was completed in 1677 and built as an octagonal central structure. It stands above Slavětín in a location offering wide views over the landscape. Inside, inscriptions and fragments bearing coats of arms from 1683 and 1747 have been preserved as the last surviving remnants of the once lavish interior.

The Konstantin Biebl exhibition in the so-called Birth House opened in 1955 and reopened in 1979 after the building was reconstructed. It commemorates the poet Konstantin Biebl, his uncle, the poet Arnošt Ráž (1884–1925), and Biebl’s friend, the prose writer Karel Konrád (1899–1971). The exhibition is accessible only by prior arrangement with the local municipal office.

Landscape

The Naučná stezka educational trail comprises nine stops and a separate information board in the settlement of Kystra. The approximately 7.5 km route leads between Slavětín and Peruc through a varied landscape of fields, meadows and forests.

The Baba Stone is located at a crossroads in the fields behind Slavětín and is fitted with a metal cross.
