Brodec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Brodec lies in the valley of Lounské Podlesí and in the Žatec hop-growing region. From here, there are beautiful views of the Bohemian Central Uplands; at the same time, a distant panorama of the Ore Mountains can be seen.

Landscape and Nature

The southern part of Brodec’s municipal area belongs to Džbán Nature Park. The surrounding area includes the Džbán, Pozdeňský les [Mšec], Raná and Oblík mountains.

History and Culture

Until around the middle of the 17th century, the settlement was divided into the Brodec manor and the village of Nevězenice, located southwest of it on the right bank of the Klášterský Brook. Brodec Fortress was first mentioned in 1373.

The historic Brodec estate included a mill, a sheepfold, a brewery and a game enclosure. A memorial to those who fell in the First World War stands near Brodec village square. Cultural and social events were also held annually in Brodec.

Surroundings

The Zřícenina Pravda ruin is located in the vicinity of Brodec. The wider regional area also contains the ruins of Hazmburk, Hrádek and Hradek Oltářík.
