Očihov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

At the eastern edge of Očihov, the subsidiary church of St. Martin stands on the left bank of the Blšanka. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 1964.

Culture and history

The Church of St. Martin in Očihov has a narrower polygonal presbytery adjoining its irregularly rectangular nave. A prismatic tower with a northern stair extension is located in the western gable area of the nave. The village square is also home to an originally Baroque chapel in the form of a two-storey prism, which was remodeled into its present form in 1900.

Archaeological evidence of prehistoric and early medieval settlement has been found in the built-up area of Očihov and its immediate surroundings. Martinské posvícení was celebrated in Očihov on 9 November 2013; it was scheduled for 16 November 2024.

Landscape and water

The Blšanka floodplain is a significant landscape feature and is accompanied by a belt of tall vegetation. The BJ 11 spring in Očihov is officially recognized as a natural mineral water spring. Mineral water has been found in three wells in the municipality of Očihov.

Cycling route and fishing area

The CT 3151 regional cycle route runs through Očihov and Očihovec. The planned CT 3151 regional cycle route will largely use passable field and forest roads. The 7.2-hectare Očihovská in the cadastral area of Očihov belongs to the Blšanka 2 B fishing area; fishing is permitted there.
