Libořice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Libořice, a castle park, a church ensemble and traces of history come together. The town combines a Baroque church with a protected church complex, an extensive park with preserved and dilapidated architectural features, and important points of reference in the surrounding region and beyond.

Park and Bodies of Water

The castle park is an extensive, unfenced park with numerous mature trees, shrubs and plants. A mill stream flows through the castle park; there is also a ruined stone bridge, a wooden weir and a brick-built marlstone pavilion. The historic park extended through the valley between the castle and the Zlatý potok. The flood of 1872 destroyed the park and its romantic structures.

Church and Castle History

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a Baroque church with a tower dating from 1716. The protected Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary complex includes the church, the bell tower, the perimeter wall with a gate and staircase, as well as the associated grounds. The church can be reached via a staircase; it leads to an entrance gate on the eastern side of the grounds. Libořice Castle was owned by the Counts of Klebersberg from 1739 to 1847.
