Cítoliby displays its character particularly clearly in the town center: its regular layout has existed for seven centuries. Cítoliby Castle is part of the market square of the market town of Cítoliby; together with the Church of St. James the Elder, a Gothic single-nave building, it forms a deliberately coordinated urban composition.

Culture and Townscape

The Trinity Column, created in 1680, stands on the market square and is the oldest free-standing sculpture in Cítoliby. The local sculptural ensemble includes Saint Barbara, Saint Leonard, and Saint Procopius. The Dělnický dům was built as a workers’ house from 1920 to 1923 and became a center of social life in the locality. Jan Janoušek was the first director of the Cítoliby Castle Orchestra.

Educational Trails and Information

The Smolnický potok educational trail continues as far as Cítoliby. The Cítoliby educational trail leads from the municipal office via Tyršovo náměstí and the niche chapel dedicated to Saint Apollonia on Na Plevně Street, which stands on the outskirts of Cítoliby on the road to Brloh, to Bažantnice and a cross. Two additional information panels in Cítoliby provide visitors with information about the history and monuments of the market town.

Landscape and Culture

Bažantnice is a recreational area on the eastern edge of Cítoliby; a Baroque bridge is located on the dam of its pond.

Other places: Vrbno Nad Lesy, Hřivice, Nové Sedlo U Žatce, Chraberce, Libčeves, Toužetín, Zálužice, Lipno
