Chožov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Above the municipality of Chožov rises the 350-metre-high Chožovský vrch. Remains of a fortification of unknown origin can still be seen on its summit. In Chožov, Stáj Smrčka offers training for riders and horses under the direction of Kamil or Jakub Smrčka.

Culture and history

The sacred history of Chožov goes back a long way: for the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael in Chožov, the brothers Jan and Záviš of Chodžov appointed priests between 1370 and 1379. The former church in Chožov had a Baroque appearance; however, individual structural elements indicate that it is of considerable age. The present church in Chožov was built in 1838 and does not exhibit any particular architectural style.

In Třtěno, there is a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1722. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Třtěno was built in 1870 at the municipality's expense. Třtěno is also home to a small Baroque château with a chapel inside; today, it is in very poor condition.

Mnichovský Týnec was first mentioned in 1341 and was originally owned by the Cistercian monastery in Osek. The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas in Mnichovský Týnec was built in 1714. The present chapel in Mnichovský Týnec dates from the second half of the 19th century and is Neogothic.

Nature

The Třtěnské stráně protected area was designated on 20 December 2002 in the cadastral area of Třtěno. Třtěnské stráně are an important area for diurnal butterflies. Northeast of Třtěno lie the so-called Bílé stráně, with thermophilic flora.
