Náchod District: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Náchod District combines striking rock landscapes with cultural monuments, historic sites and signposted trails. Adršpašsko–Teplické Rocks are described as the largest and wildest rock city in Central Europe. Nature and trails

Babiččino údolí preserves a harmonious cultural landscape with remnants of natural vegetation and part of the chateau complex associated with Božena Němcová’s Babička. The Babiččino údolí educational trail is more than seven kilometres long and includes 25 stops.

In Broumovské stěny, Božanovský Špičák is the highest peak at 773 metres; there is a marked circular trail there. Near Hvězda in Broumovské stěny stands the Baroque Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows, built according to a design by Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer.

Adršpach Rock Town is open all year round. The winter sightseeing route is maintained as far as the Great Waterfall.

Culture and history

The tours of Ratibořice Chateau are guided and last approximately 45 minutes. Texts in foreign languages are available; the exhibition on the ground floor is accessible. The Bathildina Trail connects the Ratibořice chateau complex with Babiččino údolí.

Klášter Broumov was rebuilt into its present Baroque form in the 17th century. The medieval monastic scriptorium there offers interactive tours. The monastery garden is freely accessible to the public.

The Dobrošov fortification consists of three completed blockhouses and 56 other structures. The chateau garden in Nové Město nad Metují is reminiscent of Italian Baroque gardens and contains Art Nouveau elements.

Getting there and cycling

The railway station is located directly in front of the entrance to Adršpašské skály. There is also a bus stop approximately 250 metres from the entrance to Adršpašské skály. Klášter Broumov is close to bus stops and railway stations.

The regional cycle network is signposted locally and includes information boards and rest areas. Cycle route 4036 runs mainly along paved field and forest paths; some sections follow third-class roads. The 31-kilometre Dolní Metuje cycle route connects Josefov, Peklo and Náchod.

Winter

In winter, the trails in Broumovské stěny and on Ostaš are not maintained. Access is at your own risk.
