Police nad Metují: Holiday apartments and houses

The Museum of Paper Models in Police nad Metují displays almost 2,000 paper models across 300 m². The museum also offers a paper workshop.

Culture and history

The Museum of the Town of Police nad Metují presents the history of the town of Police nad Metují and its surroundings in the historic rooms of the Benedictine monastery in Police nad Metují, which was founded in the 13th century by Benedictines from Břevnov. The guided tour of the museum also includes the Stará škola Dřevěnka. Construction of the church called Farní kostel in Police nad Metují began sometime after 1253; it is a large stone monastery church.

Museums and exhibitions

The Merkur Museum in Police nad Metují displays the largest model built to date using the Merkur construction system and offers an activity in which visitors can try building with Merkur while wearing virtual-reality goggles.

The exhibition “Geologický koutek: Polická křídová pánev” is located in Police nad Metují and focuses on the geological structure of the Policko area and its surroundings.

On the way

At Masarykovo náměstí, you can fill bottles for the journey at a public artesian fountain. The “Po Broumovských stěnách” cycling route starts and ends in Police nad Metují.
