The spa history of Lázně Velichovky dates back to 1897. Lázně Velichovky specializes in treating disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The freely accessible Velichovky spa park is also part of the townscape and is open for walks.

Spa and Park

Masarykův dům is the main building of the spa complex. At the same time, Masarykův dům is the only immovable cultural monument in the spa complex.

Nature and Trails

The historical educational trail “Stezka historií obce Velichovky” begins at the municipal office and connects 16 historical sites. Along the trail are wooden panels featuring historical photographs, some of which are more than 100 years old.

The forest educational trail “Naučná lesní stezka” begins behind the Brána lásky. It includes interactive elements relating to trees and animals; the trail also features a newly built pavilion for resting.

History and Culture

The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord (Kostel Proměnění Páně) is a single-nave Renaissance building founded by Hanibal von Valdštejn in 1616. The protected church complex comprises the church, the mortuary, the surrounding wall, and the access staircase.

The MISE Velichovky event includes a commemorative drive featuring historic vehicles from the Second World War period. In spring 1945, Schörnerova vila in the spa park was the place from which the command of the German Army Group Centre was directed. On 8 May 1945, the text of the surrender of the Third Reich arrived at Schörnerova vila.
