Říkov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Chapel of the Holy Guardian Angels is considered Říkov’s most significant landmark and dates from the first half of the 19th century. The Chapel of the Holy Guardian Angels was reconstructed at the municipality’s expense in 2012 and was especially known for pilgrimages held on the first Sunday in May.
Culture
At the turnoff to Velká Jesenice stands a cross donated by the young men of Říkov in 1892. Another cross at the crossroads to Doubravice was donated in 1899 by the young women of Říkov. An obelisk on the road to Velký Třebešov commemorates the first written mention of Říkov in 1366; it stands on the site of a former apple tree.
The archaeological history of the locality is also documented through several periods. During a rescue excavation on the northeastern outskirts of Říkov, Feature 96 was uncovered and interpreted as the remains of a La Tène pottery kiln. The Říkov archaeological site contains evidence of settlement and production activities from the Paleolithic, the Urnfield period, the La Tène period, the Roman Imperial period, and the Middle Ages.
