Culture and history

The current building of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene was begun in 1709 and completed in 1743. The complex includes a late Gothic entrance gate to the cemetery dating from the 15th century. The church in Božanov also preserves a stone sacrament house that was subsequently inserted into the façade of its early Baroque church tower.

The former agricultural farm complex at Božanov Nos. 247/248 is also part of the historic building stock. It is considered a typical, relatively well-preserved Broumov farmstead from the mid-19th century.

In the vicinity of Božanov, Ścinawka Górna - Renesansowy dwór is a castle. Zamek Homole is another castle in the vicinity of Božanov; Muchołapka is a monument there. In the wider surrounding region of Božanov, Zamek Rogowiec is another castle.

Landscape

From the U Koruny crossroads, a marked one-kilometre detour leads to the viewpoint on Koruna. From there, there is a view of Božanov and part of the Broumov Basin.

Velká kupa and Signal are mountains in the immediate vicinity of Božanov. The mountains Skalniak and Ptak are also located nearby. „Louky u Božanova“ refers to several meadows in the cadastral area of Božanov.

Hiking and cycling

The hiking route from Božanov to Hvězda leads from the centre of Božanov to Hvězda and is classified as moderately difficult. Božanov also has a tourist border crossing on a hiking trail.

For cycling, the tour „Za krásami broumovských statků a k radkovské přehradě“ begins in the centre of Božanov.
