Landscape

Přibyslav lies at the foot of the Orlické hory on a long, gently sloping hillside. Forests partially surround the village, and from Přibyslav, views extend across the landscape for up to 80 km.

In the vicinity of Přibyslav are the so-called “Skály”, with steep, tall rock formations surrounded by lush forests. The place called “Koníček” near Přibyslav is visited by tourists and offers a view of the romantic Peklo valley and the Metuje River.

History and Traditions

Historically, the inhabitants of Přibyslav made their living from agriculture and forestry. Historical crafts in Přibyslav included blacksmithing, carpentry and weaving.

In Přibyslav, “Stínání kohoutů” is part of the traditional Posvícení celebration. Since 1993, the Přibyslav Volunteer Fire Brigade has organised its own competition, the “Přibyslavský pohár”.
