Rasošky can be explored through several interconnected perspectives: local history, monuments, traditions and routes give the village a clearly defined character.

History

The name of the forest “Rossošky” already appears in church documents from 1546. Rasošky began to develop in 1781 on the site of this forest. The origins of the settlement are connected with the construction of the Josefov fortress, which was then called Ples. The village was founded around a rectangular village green.

Culture and Remembrance

An old military cemetery dating from 1820–1840 is an immovable cultural monument. The Pyramida monument is located in the military cemetery in Rasošky. It commemorates the fallen members of the 21st Infantry Regiment in the wars of 1848–1849 and 1866.

The Pevnostní hřbitov lies north of Rasošky. Another historical tradition of the village is the Masopust procession, which is growing in importance in Rasošky every year.

Routes

The 1866 educational trail runs through Rasošky and connects the village, among other places, with Josefov. Cycle route 4266 also passes through the village: it runs from Jaroměř to Rasošky and continues from Rasošky to Smržov.
