Hejtmánkovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Hejtmánkovice is associated with an extraordinary meteorite event: the meteorite fall of 1847 was the third observed fall of meteoric iron in the world. The larger meteorite, with a mass of 23.63 kg, fell onto a meadow near Hejtmánkovice and was found immediately by one of the eyewitnesses to the fall.

Villagescape and history

Hejtmánkovice extends lengthwise and has no central village core. The village has the typical structure of a colonization village: a road runs along a watercourse, while the farmsteads are located near the road at the beginning of continuous strips of land belonging to the farmsteads. On the bridge at the entrance to Hejtmánkovice from the direction of Broumov stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.

Velký lom na Mlýnském vrchu is an important geological site in Hejtmánkovice. Permian volcaniclastic rock from the Olivětín beds occurs there. A red-marked hiking trail from Broumov to Meziměstí runs along the ridge of Mlýnský vrch in the cadastral area of Hejtmánkovice. Velký lom na Mlýnském vrchu can be reached via the aforementioned hiking trail or from Hejtmánkovice along a field path beside the former cowshed.
