Velká Jesenice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie church in Velká Jesenice is a branch church and was formerly a parish church. It was already mentioned as a parish church in 1384. A church service is held there on Sundays at 10:00 a.m., except on the last Sunday of the month.

The Pomník Jendy Hofmana monument is located directly next to the church. It was created in 1926–1927 by the brothers Josef and Antonín Wagner and has been protected as a cultural monument since 1995. The Socha sv. Václava statue was created by the local merchant and self-taught sculptor Jan Haž, also known as Háž. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 1995; it stands on the upper edge of Velká Jesenice at the intersection of road II/304 and a local road.

Above Velká Jesenice, on Varta, stands the sv. Františka Serafinského Chapel. Built in the Neo-Romanesque style in 1868, the chapel has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1995. In 2025, it was freely accessible.

Cycling and Water at Rozkoš Reservoir

The approximately 19-kilometre Cyklookruh Rozkoš cycling circuit connects municipalities around Rozkoš Reservoir, including Velká Jesenice. The circuit includes rest areas, shelters, bicycle service stations, bicycle racks and charging stations for electric bicycles.
