Horicky: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Baroque Church of the Holy Spirit in Hořičky was built in 1714–1715 on the site of an earlier Gothic church. Together with its bell tower and surrounding wall, it is a listed cultural monument; its interior contains notable gravestones.

History and Culture

In the 19th century, Hořičky was a sought-after summer resort visited by numerous interesting personalities. The town’s medical heritage includes the famous bone-setter Antonín Pich, as well as the introduction of modern treatment methods for bone and joint diseases at the sanatoriums of MUDr. Alois Kutík and MUDr. Kašpar Rosa.

Tradition and Stage

The traditional Hořičská pouť will take place in Hořičky from 22 to 24 May 2026. The programme includes a funfair with carousels and other attractions, as well as stalls offering fairground snacks and other treats.

The Mečov village theatre creates its own theatrical performances together with local residents and professional actors.

Landscape

In the immediate vicinity of Hořičky are Poustka Hill [Brzice] and Kopna Hill [Hajnice-Nesytá]. Further afield in the region are Čáp Mountain, Jański Wierch Mountain and the Lázně church.

Views and Trails

A blue-marked trail leads from Hořičky’s market square to Barunčina vyhlídka after approximately 700 metres. It is situated at an altitude of 444 metres and has several benches for resting.

To the north of Hořičky, Barunčina vyhlídka offers views of the Polish Table Mountains, Náchodsko including Dobrošov and Hejšovina, Adršpašsko, the Orlické hory, Opočno and Česká Skalice.

Transport

Hořičky can be reached by bus; there is no railway connection there.
