Žďárky carries its history in its name: it derives from the historic production of charcoal by charring wood. The first written record of Žďárky dates from 1415.

History

Hard coal was already mined in the Vilemínin-Důl in Žďárky in the 18th century. Hard coal from Žďárky was transported for firing bricks used in the construction of Josefov Fortress.

Historical craftsmanship is also visible in Mokřiny. The original sandstone bell tower was completely reconstructed. The bell's suspension, including the wooden and metal elements, as well as the roof of the bell tower, was restored.

A stylish restaurant is open from spring to autumn in the reconstructed administrative building of the mine. The primary school in Žďárky dates from 1877 and is considered worth seeing.
