Daun: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cycling

The Maare-Moselle Cycle Route begins in Daun. An e-bike circuit also starts and ends here; e-bikes are available for hire from the GesundLand Tourist Information office. The circuit passes over the Daun Viaduct, which offers a view towards the town.

The Vulkaneifel Trail Park includes mountain bike routes of varying difficulty on forest and woodland tracks, including the KoulShore single-track area. The network of routes is signposted so that the routes can be ridden without GPS or map support.

Hiking and Relaxation

The HeimatSpur Dreeswanderweg starts at the FORUM Daun, reaches the Hotzendrees spring and passes close to the Kolverater Drees just outside Daun. The HeimatSpur Kleiner Dauner also leads to the Hotzendrees mineral spring. The HeimatSpur Großer Dauner runs through forests and along varied paths around Daun.

Daun Spa Park is a peaceful public park with the DUNARIS mineral spring, facilities for drinking or bathing cures, and a Kneipp facility. From there, several hiking trails can be accessed, including the Eifelsteig and Lieserpfad.

Culture

St. Nicholas Church in Daun preserves a Romanesque crypt that survived the bombing on 2 January 1945. Of Daun Castle's ruins, a curtain wall and a bastion tower with gun loopholes have been preserved.

The Eifel Volcano Museum in Daun is housed in the former Daun district administration building and explains the region's volcanism using interactive models, information panels and images.

Nature

The mineral springs of Daun, locally known as Dresse, are presented as evidence of the area's long-lasting volcanic activity. In the Vulkaneifel region, the nature and geopark is associated with maar lakes, hiking trails, cycling routes and geoscientific excursions.

Immediately outside the Daun Wildlife and Adventure Park is an 800-metre-long summer toboggan run. The Daun Wildlife and Adventure Park offers close-up encounters with animals at viewing platforms and feeding stations and also has a farm with miniature animals.
