The Wadden Sea and distinctive natural areas

The North Frisian Wadden Sea is an official nature reserve and forms part of Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park. The Hallig of Südfall reveals a distinctive side of this landscape: it covers 50 ha, lies in Zone 1 of the national park and has a largely natural landscape. Südfall may only be visited as part of a guided tour—either on a guided walk or with the Wadden Sea carriage drivers. Of all the districts in Schleswig-Holstein, North Frisia has the highest density of museums and the largest number of listed cultural monuments.
