Nature

Culture
The Ox Road passed through Horstedt during the cattle drives from Jutland to Hamburg. The village’s inns also trace their origins back to these cattle drives. Since 1982, the Horstedt theatre group has performed a Low German one-act or three-act play every year.
The former site of the knackery is described as a possible starting point or resting place. Nearby, the fieldstone church in Olderup has largely retained its original form.
Activities
In summer, a Horstedt cycling group offers rides of 20 to 30 kilometres through the surrounding countryside. A hiking route of approximately 20 kilometres from Husum to Horstedt and back is part of the Husum Bay hiking trail network.
Horstedt has two riding stables. Wiesenhof Equestrian Centre has an indoor riding arena, an outdoor riding arena, an outdoor jumping arena and rents out horse stalls; it also offers qualified riding lessons. A district-wide equestrian trail network provides riders in the Horstedt area with various routes.
Geographical Location
The North Sea can be reached quickly from Horstedt. Local accommodation includes several holiday apartments and rooms for rent; Horstedt is also associated with rural holidays and farm holidays.
