Goldelund: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

On the western outskirts of Goldelund lies the 200-hectare Lütjenholm Forest. At the same time, Goldelund is described as a place with an extensive, well-developed network of rural roads that enables varied walks and bike rides through an appealing rural landscape.

Landscape and Nature

The Lütjenholmer Heide nature reserve and the Soholmer Au are located directly near Goldelund. The nearby Lütjenholmer Heath Dunes form a 16.6-hectare nature reserve on the edge of the Soholmer Au and have been protected there since as early as 1938. They provide a habitat for rare heat-loving insects and are one of the few places in Schleswig-Holstein where the Ural ant occurs. There are also opportunities for horseback riding in the Goldelund area.

Cycling

Goldelund Cycle Loop 1 is a 10-kilometre cycling route that begins and ends in the centre of Goldelund. The route partly follows country roads with cycle paths, paved and unbound sandy surfaces, as well as rural and field paths.

Culture

Goldelund's war memorial commemorates the victims of both world wars. The listed historic buildings include the Geesthardenhaus at Hauptstraße 29, which dates from 1891. The former school at Westerstraße 7 is also listed; it dates from around 1900.

Getting there: Goldelund can be reached from the A7 via the Tarp and Wanderup exits; the route continues in the direction of Bredstedt.
