Culture

The present appearance of the Neogotický kaštieľ dates back to a Neo-Gothic reconstruction carried out in 1861. Renesančný kaštieľ is one of the most significant historical monuments in the city of Galanta. Comprehensive heritage restoration carried out from 1980 to 1992 enabled public access to Renesančný kaštieľ. Renesančný kaštieľ houses a local history exhibition about Galanta and its surrounding area.

The Roman Catholic Church of Saint Stephen the King was built from 1797 to 1800 and consecrated in 1805. Inside, there is a Baroque altar from a chapel demolished in 1741.

The Vlastivedné múzeum v Galante specializes in documenting milling in the catchment area of the Little Danube and along the lower reaches of the Váh. The Pamätná izba Zoltána Kodálya presents important stages and achievements from the life of the renowned composer. The Pamätná izba Karola Duchoňa displays his awards, an authentic painting by Barbora Didovová, and extensive photographic documentation. The permanent exhibition Izba starých gramofónov a šelakových platní comes from the collection of Kristián Takács.
